My name is Matthew Gaither. On May the 15th of 2013 God called me to share my life and experiences in the form of a blog and as a ministry and outreach to others. I’m 42 years old, married and I have a passion for reading, writing and connecting with real human beings. I am focused on teaching and sharing the foundation of my faith with anyone who is willing to have a conversation.
On this blog I will be discussing my daily walk, posting articles and lessons that I use in my Sunday School class at church and offering the occasional random thought or review of products that are in my areas of interest.
This blog takes its name from both my name and the date of God’s call to me (5/15) and from the bible verse Matthew 5:15 which says “Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.” Christians are called to be the light of this world and as a Christian I want to let my light shine before all men that God may be glorified.
Unfortunately, my “light” up until this point in my life has been rather dim and frequently hidden in a basket of my own making. I struggle daily to be fully in the world but not of the world. I’m a regular guy with interests in technology, gaming and automobiles who also wants to keep God first in all he does. I’m also silly, quiet, introspective and prone to daydreaming and an overactive imagination. This is all me and I hope and pray that God can use it.
